About the Studio

DCXS Interiors Inc. is a founder-led interior design and spatial consulting practice established by Xinlian Xu. The studio brings together architectural thinking, interior design sensitivity, and a practical consulting approach to residential, workplace, and commercial environments.

With more than 12 years of experience across architecture, commercial design, workplace projects, and sustainable building strategies, the practice is shaped by international design exposure and a long-term interest in how spaces are used, experienced, and improved.

Founder Background

Xinlian Xu studied architecture at Harbin Institute of Technology and later completed an MSc in Sustainable Building Technology at the University of Nottingham. Her academic and professional background combines architectural training, sustainable design thinking, and cross-disciplinary project experience.

Her professional experience includes work with CallisonRTKL and HPP Architects, where she participated in commercial, workplace, and large-scale design projects within international and multidisciplinary environments. Over time, her work expanded from architectural and urban-scale thinking into interior design practice, with a stronger focus on user experience, spatial quality, and sustainability in implementation.

Credentials

Xinlian Xu is a National Class-1 Registered Architect in China and previously obtained the LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C) credential. She also co-translated the Chinese edition of Sustainable Design Basics, reflecting an ongoing interest in sustainability and applied design knowledge.
